Description
The German Gymnasium is a 19th century Grade II Listed building at the gateway to King’s Cross Central; the biggest and most exciting regeneration project in Central London for 150 years.
Originally a gymnasium, the ground floor is home to King’s Cross Central’s marketing suite and visitor centre. Bright and spacious, the modern fit-out by Studio Downie Architects complements the Grade II Listed building.
The centre piece is a 6m x 3m 1:250 scale model of the 67 acre development. Also on display are permanent exhibitions and information setting out the vision and delivery of the future King’s Cross.
With huge levels of foot traffic as one of the largest building sites in the country, the flooring had to not only look good but be able to retain its appearance; studio Downie specified Bolon flooring throughout the ground floor space.
