Maltzahn Custom Carpets & Rugs

What we need

Simply provide us with your floor plans and the dimensions of the area to be covered, along with the image or artwork you require. Our minimum order is 100m2.

Artwork

All normal artwork formats are acceptable. Images should be ideally a minimum 300 dpi for best results. Our expert design team will advise and guide on all aspects of your design and will help check the suitability of any artwork provided.

Samples

On receipt of artwork, we will provide CAD illustrations.

Once the CAD drawings have been approved we will make a sample carpet; this normally takes 7-10 days.

Quality

Select quality of the carpet:

An important part of the design process is to choose the finish of flooring you want. This will affect the colour, design and price. Your design can be printed on several types and qualities of broadloom carpets with a width of 400 cm, all suitable for heavy contract use or alternatively finished as a rug to your specified dimensions.

Finish

All Maltzahn carpets are contract quality, fire rated to EN standards, and suitable for commercial interiors.

Latex Free Bonding

Backing finishing without latex? Until 2007 that appeared inconceivable.

The coating with latex was an essential production stage for fixing the pile loops on the backing. Maltzahn developed a process which does not require the use of latex and which was awarded the Research and Innovation Prize 2007 from the Lower Rhine Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The zero-emission carpet became a reality.

Delivery time

Once samples are approved, lead time for finished goods is usually 3-4 weeks.

Bolon

Artisan

New for 2011: Handicraft meets new technology

Bolon has borrowed inspiration from traditional handcraft and top modern technology for this years’ collection. Artisan combines the craftsmanship and creativity of yesteryear with the possibilities offered by modern technology. The result has become the best of two worlds. A collection with a completely new thread, a high textile feeling, the highest wear resistance class and a unique look. Available as carpet tiles, sheet and planks in size 216 x 648mm to create a parquet-like floor.

Botanic

Bolon's green garden

Inspired by the wealth of detail in nature’s plant life, Botanic is the worlds first vinyl flooring which is produced with a plasticiser made from renewable raw materials. The weft thread is two coloured, which provides playfulness and an extraordinary pattern with a textile feel. The backing is thinner and more mouldable that other collections. Also available as triangular tiles which create exciting effects.

Graphic

Visual Geometry

Inspiration from modern architecture and grandiose structures of glass and steel. Graphic is designed for high traffic environments and provides an exciting look but at the same time a sober.

Spektra

The influence of colours

Inspiration is borrowed from strong colours and their influence on us as people. Colours create energy and happiness. The collection, which has strong expressive colours, is available both in monochrome and striped floorings. Spektra is wear resistant with a smooth surface and a long service life.

Eight

Urban eternity

Inspiration is borrowed from the world’s metropolises, where the offices never close and the floors are used from nine to five, day after day. Eight was Bolon’s first extremely wear resistant flooring collection, with a smooth woven surface that is extremely well suited to offices requiring a long service life.

Ethnic

Down to earth futurism

Inspiration is borrowed from the northernmost part of Sweden with its unique nature and culture. The collection uses down to earth colours in interesting patterns which are associated with earth, stone and rock, with a streak of metallic shimmer. Provides a sophisticated feeling which is suited to shop and hotel environments.

Now

Luxurious drama

Inspiration is borrowed from the Baroque, with its luxury and lavishness. The flooring provides an expressive yet uniform whole, where weaving and streaks of metallic glimmer create and exclusive and lavish feeling.

BKB

Discreet versatility

Inspiration is borrowed from sisal and coir mats. BKB was Bolon’s first collection and continues, even today, to be a classic and a bestseller. The colour palette is broad with a basic pattern which has a wide range of applications.

Limited

Living and contemporary

Limited is a living side collection which is continuously renewed and updated. Inspiration is borrowed from the fickle fashion world and can, for example, include the latest trend colour or new structures and pattern combinations. The collection is developed in a limited edition and will be in stock for a limited period of time. Certain products subsequently become part of Bolons ordinary product range. Bolon

“A Bolon flooring is exclusive, inviting and unique. The feeling of the textile is unmistakable – almost organic but the flooring, nevertheless, has all the advantages of vinyl: great appearance retention, easy to maintain and simple to install. Bolon is available as carpet tiles, sheet, and custom designs and is developed specifically for public environments with a focus on hotels, offices, and shops. It is 100% recyclable.”

The Swedish flooring company Bolon was founded in 1949. The family firm is owned and run by Annica and Marie Eklund, the third generation of Eklunds to own the company. From its origins as a traditional manufacturer of woven flooring, the company has developed into an internationally successful design company with a focus on superior quality innovative flooring. Bolon was the first company in the world to produce woven vinyl floor coverings and has always designed all of its floors itself. The highly unique way in which the flooring is produced together with its range of design options have created tremendous international interest in the product. It looks like a textile floor covering yet has all the practical advantages of vinyl flooring, particularly when it comes to long-life, appearance retention and maintenance.

The products are sold in more than 30 countries today and Bolon’s customers include well-known companies such as Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Lacoste, Sheraton and high-profile architects and designers such as Tom Dixon, Jean Nouvel and Renzo Piano. All Bolon floors are produced for public environments with a focus on hotels, shops and offices. They meet all the stringent standards for fire safety, wear and durability, sound insulation, etc.

Maltzahn

“The Maltzahn design team realises individual customer wishes from the screen onto the floor, creating custom carpets and rugs with individuality and diversity.”

Floor coverings, carpet tiles and rugs by Maltzahn are the products of design skill and German technical engineering know-how. With modern carpet finishing processes such as chromojet technology, vat piece dyeing and various coating processes, a sustained emphasis is placed on aesthetics, innovation and long life in the development and production of custom carpets.

In the design department, CAD printouts are translated in the laboratory from the virtual world into a concrete colour formulation and tested on a chromo-jet laboratory system before final production. When the print-head of the chromojet printing system slides back and forth, a sharp, colour design with up to eight colours is created in seconds on a pure white tufting carpeting; the fibres are dyed down to the backing which achieves the optimum depth effect and clarity of design. With this specialist jet printing technology almost any pattern can be realised from as small a production quantity as 100 m2.

These precise printing techniques have been developed by Maltzahn since 1974. Nevertheless, even if large parts of carpet production occur fully automatically, at source it is always a craft and it is this combination of German technical excellence and experienced craftsman that signifies the individuality and diversity in Maltzahn and has thereby ushered in a renaissance in carpet design.
